**Strategic** **Initiatives Lead, Trans Care BC**

Trans Care BC works with its partners to set direction and provide leadership for trans health services across B.C., to ensure Two-Spirit, trans and gender diverse people of all ages get the care they need when and where they need it.

Trans Care BC is a program of the Provincial Health Services Authority, and we work to help people find the information they need to access gender-affirming health care and supports.

The Trans Care BC team provides information, resources and pathways to care related to trans health and wellness. We provide support to healthcare professionals in the form of clinical tools and resources and education.

**What you’ll do**

- Participate and when applicable, is the lead for the implementation of TCBC strategic action plans. Collaborate with members of the TCBC leadership team by sharing information and proposing recommendations and monitoring timelines that enable the attainment of TCBC’s goals and objectives, consistent with TCBC’s strategic action plan.
- Develop networks to build engagement and participation with key partners for strategic initiative work.
- Collaborate across boundaries and finds common ground with a wide range of key partners, including government agencies, professional associations, regulatory bodies and health authorities.
- Identify key components and underlying issues and systematically analyze problems and determine solutions.
- Synthesize evidence and aligns multiples ideas and strategies to develop tools and resources to support strategic initiatives (including, but not limited to: reports, topic materials, web-based tools, position, policy and white papers, and other documents).
- Participate in the development and monitoring of project budgets within the context of operational demands and environmental and resource constraints and use best practice methods to thoroughly monitor and adhere to allocated budgets.
- Provide leadership by giving advice or guidance in situations that require interpretation and judgment, supporting change management and increased communications.
- Some travel in the province is required.

**What you bring**

**Qualifications**:

- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Nursing or an applicable health discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of recent related experience in strategic systems and large-scale change work in a trans health care related field.
- Experience working with networks, coalitions and multi-partnered projects in a healthcare environment including a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a progressively responsible leadership role.

- Demonstrated ability to lead change, inspiring and engaging others in promoting change behaviors. Ability to lead, to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and/or evaluate health promotion, prevention and primary care initiatives and/or programs with a focus on early years.
- Demonstrated analytic and critical thinking skills including the ability to provide information in a concise and meaningful manner.
- Demonstrated ability to establish courses of action for self and others that are result oriented.
- Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels including the public.
- Demonstrated ability to create resources and/or knowledge translation initiatives and materials
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
