Mining Plus has an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Specialist with demonstrated expertise in commercial contracts in North America. As a Contracts Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with our team who is servicing projects globally. You will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of contracts related to Canada and US projects. This is a part-time position with the possibility to be full-time in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead North American commercial contract management process in the formation of contracts through to execution, including participating in the proposal terms and conditions, contract reviews, non-disclosure agreements, and/or subcontract partnering, and risk assessment processes
- Provide advice and guidance to various functional areas regarding contract management
- Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems, evaluate realistic options and recommend/implement an appropriate course of action
- Collaborate with the Mining Plus Commercial team in Australia, Project Controllers, technical personnel and Project Business Services on commercial issues relating to contracts and projects
- to obtain and provide information regarding commercial issues
- Ensure compliance with management of records and relevant correspondence to support reporting, claims and litigations, and contract closeout
- Develop strong working relationships with technical, finance and project control personnel

Skills/Qualifications:

- Formal qualifications in a related field
- At least 7 years of contracts experience in Canada / US
- Highly effective strategic, organizational, time management and analytical skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, and databases
- Experience or familiarity with natural resources, construction or engineering sectors is considered an asset
- Spanish language skills would be an asset but are not essential
