**Position Description**:
We are seeking a highly motivated new member to join our team, manage the lab and assist with experiments (**Lab Research Project Coordinator**). The successful incumbent will join a high functioning and collaborative young lab with research focused on liver repair, regeneration, and fibrosis, using transgenic mouse models, progenitor organoid and cell culture, and genome engineering (viral vectors, transgenesis, CRISPR). This job requires a highly organized individual with outstanding time management, excellent communication, and advanced technical skills able to support trainees and the PI. They will assist in research, training, and manage various aspects of the lab. An important focus will be the management of a disrupted supply chain to make sure research continues without interruption.

Our Research Coordinator will play an integral role in providing continuity of research, help run the lab with the assistance of a more junior team member, to ensure efficient and effective productivity, encouraging research excellence and integrity. **Here's What You'll Get To Do**
- Supervisory responsibilities: organization of the laboratory, ordering supplies, budgeting, and developing new techniques or methods.
- Responsible for preparation and update of regulatory protocols (ie, BioRisk permits, REB, AUPs). Participate in ad hoc committees within the Research Institute and ensure fiscal and safety responsibilities are maintained.
- Responsible for project assignments, planning experiments, interpreting results, preparing reports describing assumptions, procedures, and findings.
- Must possess creativity to adapt known techniques to new settings and advise on creating new practices. Will collaborate with lab researchers in preparation of peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and grant proposals.
- Perform advanced, highly technical work, and/or provides leadership within the research group on technical matters; supervise and take responsibility for some aspects of the laboratory research. Provide continuity of research across change of trainees.
- Should be proficient in general rules of experimental design (controls), statistical requirements, and data analysis.
- Provide technical training and experimental design support for trainees.

**Shared Responsibilities with Junior Team Members**
- Animal husbandry, breeding strategies including coordinating genotyping with Transnetyx.
- Biosafety level 2 virology work (animal inoculations, cell culture for viral harvest)
- Performing animal procedures for experiments.
- Routine preparation and maintenance of organoid and cell culture.
- General lab support through identification of needed supplies, stocking/aliquoting/storing of supplies.
- General organization of the lab, space, storage, inventory management.
- Preparation of key solutions, buffers, media, including using aseptic techniques.
- Maintaining equipment (e.g., PCR machines, RNA scope/oven, pH meters, scales, microscopes, BSC, incubators, computers, pipettes, water baths, etc)
- Proficient (teaching level knowledge) in basic laboratory techniques including nucleic acid handling (purification, amplification), immunohistochemistry, microscopy, protein handling, western blotting.
- Ensure lab personnel are equally sharing the responsibilities of maintaining the organization, cleanliness and safety in the lab and regularly contributing to lab duties.
- May need to work on weekends and adjust hours to accommodate fluctuations in research demands.
