The primary function of this role is to develop, implement & evaluate various projects related to equity and inclusion initiatives. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
**Major Responsibilities**:

- Engages with internal partners, communities, external stakeholders to build alignments and drive impact across cross-cutting priorities related to equity
- Monitors current social, economic, and political trends and issues, including legislative proposals and Council directives, that impact Indigenous, Black and equity-deserving groups
- Leverages user-research, engagements, scans and findings to recommend strategic and policy directions for the City
- Develops measurement and evaluation frameworks to support an outcomes-based approach
- Establishes, coordinates and provides support to equity, inclusion and human rights related roundtables, task forces, advisory committees, working groups and/or interdivisional committees
- Researches and presents best practices and options for programs and policies, including assessment of implications, feasibility of options and implementation strategies
- Develops partnerships, resources/tools for City divisions to build capacity, engagement and understanding of equity
- Builds and maintains networks and coordination mechanisms with other levels of government, other municipalities, communities, and strategic partners as appropriate
- Demonstrates political acumen in providing expertise and strategic advice on equity, diversity and human rights in accordance with the City's and the Equity, Diversity & Human Rights division's policies and priorities
- Supports divisional events and activities that advance equity and inclusion priorities and objectives

**Key Qualifications**:

- Experiences in the development, implementation and evaluation of equity, diversity and inclusion policies, programs and initiatives within a large public or private sector organization;
- Experience with service equity and influencing organizational change strategies
- Experience coordinating advisory and consultation processes involving elected officials, staff, external partners and community members; including the ability to maintain effective working relationships;
- Project management experience, managing complex assignments from inception through to implementation with mínimal direction while balancing political, community and other stakeholder interests, and resolving conflicts.
- Strong ability to perform research, analysis and report writing
- Post-secondary education in a discipline pertinent to the job function or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, test and analyze complex information with attention to detail and accuracy; experience in interpretation and reporting of qualitative and/or quantitative data.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a highly organized, fully accountable project leader and as a self-directed and effective team member.
- Highly developed sense of discretion, judgement, and political acumen to deal with sensitive and confidential issues;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral, and negotiation/problem solving skills at all organizational levels;
- Advanced working experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience working with Microsoft Access is an asset.
- Lived experience as a member of an Indigenous, Black and/or equity-deserving group is an asset.
