The Donor Stewardship Officer will be a problem solver, collaborator, independent contributor, and self-starter who gets excited by a challenge and maintains a high standard of excellence.

Reporting to the Director, Donor Stewardship, you bring strengths in project management, customer service, and impact storytelling, and are motivated to keep the donor experience at the centre of all that you do. Your combination of skills, passion, and commitment will make you successful in this role.

Key responsibilities include impact reporting, gift documentation and fulfilment tracking, digital first broad-based impact communications.

The Donor Stewardship office in the Department of External Relations cultivates meaningful partnerships with donors to support the University of Manitoba community who are dedicated to improving the world, bit by bit. We strive to engage and inspire donors by acknowledging and recognizing their gifts, fulfilling their intentions, and demonstrating the impact of their generosity, consistent with best practices in donor relations.

Responsibilities include:

- Leads digital stewardship initiatives including Thank View and other platforms.
- Responsible for broad based and project-based impact storytelling focused on a digital first approach.
- Contributes to creative concept, design and writing of impact communications.
- Designs, creates content, and delivers gratitude communications in partnership with the Marketing Communications Office.
- Plans and deploys special day donor communications (e.g., birthdays, holidays etc.).
- Acts as key stakeholder in developing and implementing strategy for impact reporting.
- Develops, coordinates and gathers information for reports from faculty, department and/or unit partners.
- Writes and edits individual reports.
- Project lead for gift document development - central donor relations resource for drafting, review and approvals
- Leads documentation and tracking of gift fulfilment requirements.
- Develops special comprehensive and commemorative gift impact reports to strengthen university's relationships with individual donors, corporations, foundations and organizations.
- Maintains stewardship activity tracking and assists in program evaluation.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- An undergraduate degree, with a major in Communications, Management, Philanthropy or related field is required.
- A minimum of two years of directly related experience required, in donor relations or stewardship, preferably in higher education or a comparably complex organization.
- Experience in project management is required.
- Experience working with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve success and inspire collaboration is required.
- Experience in writing and/or designing of impact communications is preferred.
- Experience working with a donor database is preferred such as Raiser's Edge.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, preferably advancement and storytelling writing experience.
- Strong presentation skills required.
- Excellent customer service and relationship building skills are required.
- Excellent project management skills are required, including prioritizing, and advancing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail is required.
- Must have strong research skills, including ability to use and extrapolate information from both online and internal sources.
- Must be digitally savvy with a desire to adopt and implement new technologies.
- Graphic design and video editing skills are preferred.
- Superior ability to plan, organize, coordinate and establish
