**JOB SUMMARY**:
As a Mountain Adventure Coordinator at Grouse Mountain, you will be responsible for capturing and creating daily and weekly group schedules that allow for an efficient flow of activities at maximum capacity. The coordinators role involves organizing daily logistic, ensuring safety protocols are followed, providing guidance to educators, organizing equipment and supplies. This role provides daily “on-site” support to team members and their groups assisting when needed, and ensuring the daily activities run smoothly.
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:
- Facilitate seamless communication with Event Orders from the Mountain Adventures Sales team; ensuring timely processing and smooth handling of booking inquiries.
- Create and send daily schedules to guests and staff; communicate changes quickly and efficiently as needed.
- Assist supervisor/manager in coordinating staff for immediate upcoming events.
- Produce and maintain First Nations presenter’s schedule; maintain inventory of Hiwus Cultural supplies, and other curriculum supplies, maintaining organization and cleanliness in allocated areas
- Execute both set-up and tear-down of educational and other mountain top activities
- Attend Health/Safety and Green committee meetings as act as a department liaison
- Fill in as Educator, when required, guiding groups through any education program offered
- Become familiar with and implement Grouse programs, policies, procedures, and philosophy, leading by example
- Co-create new innovative programs when called upon
- Meet groups at base; address group concerns and solve challenges, recognize and quickly adjust to change
- Follow recording and reporting procedures of day’s events as required
- Act as a role model for guests in sustainable living and inspire awareness and nature curiosity through your actions and teachings
- Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Provides direction to to a team of guides, instructors, and supporting staff who facilitate the Mountain Adventures activities.
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES**:
- Post-secondary courses in Education, Environmental management, Outdoor Recreation and/or Sciences (Biology/Environmental Studies or related majors) or a combination of experience and education
- Experience and/or qualifications preferred in at least 2 of the following areas: Outdoor Education, First Nations, Wildlife/Ecology, Physical Education, Health/Wellness, Sustainability, Tourism, Experiential Education, leadership
- Awareness and demonstrate sensitivity towards British Columbia’s rich First Nations history and culture
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision, with a partner, or in a team
- Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, with relatable experience with booking software, Tripleseat, Siriusware
- Exceptional attention to detail is a must, with high proficiently in multitasking and swiftly adapting to changing circumstances
- Ability to effectively weigh risk and make safe, sound decisions
- Able to maintain open and effective communication
- Ability to safely lift 40 pounds repetitively for set-up of some types of equipment, example-snowshoes
- Physical and mental endurance, ability to stand on your feet for the duration of your shift, and hike or snowshoe for 2 hours at a time
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. French, Spanish, Mandarin and/or other languages are an asset

Hours of Operation are weather dependent. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. Must be available to work consistently Monday-Friday 8:30am-3pm,occasional weekend an
