**Job Title**: Maintenance Technical Services

**Schedule time**: Night Shift 11:30 pm - 07:30 am
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Working under general direction from the Maintenance/Production Supervisors, Technical Services is responsible for providing mechanical assistance to the Maintenance/Production team by preparing various tools and equipment required for production in all types of production equipment and facility. This includes but is not limited to assistance with set-ups and maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct lock-out tag-out (LOTO), and provide technical and mechanical assistance to troubleshoot and maintain production equipment, Jigs & Fixtures, Set-up Technicians and Millwrights with preparation of moulds, dies and tooling in a safe manner.
- Prepare fixtures and secondary equipment for production, and assist in changeovers between production runs.
- Clean dies and blow mould components as needed during set-up.
- Assist in preparing/pre-staging blow pins and setting up stretching unit and strikers during mould changeovers.
- Participate in SMED, KAIZEN and continuous improvement activities as directed by maintenance leadership.
- Transport mould, cooling lines, tooling and secondary equipment to and from storage.
- Assist tooling technician in mould movement, and opening moulds for quick review after production.
- Conduct 5S activities, organize shop floor and parts storage area.
- Prepare leak testers and conduct minor maintenance activities with leak testers and sonic welders.
- Conduct small fixture machining, fitting and repair based on directions of senior technicians.
- Clean and prepare machines prior to, and after break down with the guidance of senior technicians.
- Assist in, and conduct minor preventative maintenance (PM) activities and audits, as well as machine checks based on checklist, and complete documentation.
- Assist in maintaining a log/inventory of hand tools and cutters for secondary equipment
- Prepare hand tools and small fixtures to assist production personnel.
- Input machine parameters during set-up, and conduct audits as required to ensure machine process remains consistent.
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, conveyors according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
- Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations.
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools.
- Consult manufacturer's manuals, circuit diagrams and blueprints to determine tests and maintenance procedures for instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level, pressure, temperature and other variables.
- Inspect and test operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments.
- Repair and adjust system components, such as sensors, transmitters and programmable logic controllers, or remove and replace defective parts.
- Assist in calibrating components and instruments according to manufacturers' specifications.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work and complete test and maintenance reports
- Install control and measurement instruments on existing and new plant equipment and processes.

These duties and responsibilities may be altered or added to as required.

ATTRIBUTES
- Good knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within Technical Services.
- Able to read, and communicate verbally and in writing in the English language.
- Able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously & must be able to work under minimum supervision.
- Able to troubleshoot technical issues with a sense of urgency and initiative.
- Must be mechanically inclined, with strong attention to details.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, time management and documentation skills.
- Proven interpersonal skills and team orientated with the ability to work within a diverse workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an injection and/or blow-molding plastics manufacturing environment
