Reporting to the Senior Human Resource Consultant, the Scheduling Support Clerk is responsible for provision of clerical and administrative support related to scheduling in Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services (WFPS) Operations. This position is responsible for supporting the scheduling processes, including inputting and maintaining data within the Vector and ICO systems as well as PeopleSoft personnel module, preparing operational scheduling changes, and other related administrative support duties.

**As the **_Scheduling Support Clerk_** you will**:

- Support the Assistant Chiefs and Platoon Chiefs on platoon or station transfers and promotions.
- Update and maintain Vector, ICO and PeopleSoft modules related to scheduling.
- Enter and manage scheduling data in the systems.
- Ensure there is no duplication of information and that data is maintained accurately.
- Process forms and correspondence under strict deadlines.
- Respond to scheduling inquiries from Operations and Human Resources.
- Ensure that processes are aligned to Collective Agreements and Business processes.
- Prepares transfer and promotion memo for distribution.
- Prepare calculations of reporting times.
- Ensure that all scheduled leaves are entered in a timely manner.
- Manage employee profiles when an employee is on a leave of absence and returning to work.
- Provide scheduling reports as requested.
- Maintain an efficient filing and record keeping system for all scheduling records.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- Successful completion of post-secondary education in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or other related field or a combination of related education and experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years' directly related clerical and administrative experience such as payroll, timekeeping, scheduling and data entry.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience providing excellent customer service in a high demand, deadline driven environment.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience preparing, analyzing and reviewing reports and documents.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio at an Advanced Level.
- Experience working with PeopleSoft or another related Human Resource Information System or Scheduling System is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong mathematical aptitude with the ability to perform calculations and balance numbers accurately.
- Strong verbal communication skills to effectively convey detailed information in a clear and concise manner to others.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain and organize accurate files and records, manage competing priorities and prioritize workload in a deadline driven environment to meet tight timeframes.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels in the organizations.
- The ability to type 40 words per minute.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in providing information to others and respond to a variety of requests in a professional and courteous manner.
- The ability to recognize problems and resolve them when appropriate, as well as bringing them to the attention of appropriate senior staff for resolution when required.
- The ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Knowledge of WFPS databases as well as software ability to learn and utilize departmental systems is an asset.
