**Summary**: Within the context of a client and family centred model of care and, in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Providence Health Care, the person promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors and staff.
Reporting to the Program Director and receiving day-to-day work direction from the Clinical Nurse Specialist, the Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of Mental Health program projects and initiatives. The Project Coordinator coordinates and monitors project activities to ensure deliverables are completed on time and on budget. Prepares and disseminates reports on project/project task status. Identifies, collects, and analyzes relevant data/information relating to current projects and/or program activities. Prepares reporting materials, including summaries, written reports, briefing documents, and presentations. Assists with the development of communication plans and responds to requests for project information.
The Project Coordinator works with a fair degree of independence and uses in-depth knowledge of the initiatives to coordinate actions and activities related to assigned project tasks. In addition to working closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialist, the role works collaboratively with other staff and working groups internal and external to the organization.
**Skills**: Proven knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to implement project plans, meet timelines, juggle competing priorities and creatively problem-solve to realize project completion.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with mental health concepts.
Knowledge of social determinants of health and commitment to addressing the needs of people who are marginalized and face barriers in accessing care.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Computer literacy including experience in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and reference management software.
Experience in or ability to quickly learn computer programs/interfaces.
Knowledge of online survey tools.
- **Education**: A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Degree in a Social Science, Health Science or related field. A minimum of three (3) years recent, related experience in a coordination role, including project coordination. Previous experience working in a health care environment preferably in a mental health setting is an asset.
- **Duties**: Provides project coordination for a variety of projects and activities. Tracks project(s) progress according to project plan, monitors and reports on the status of projects/project tasks. Identifies and reports any major issues/obstacles encountered. Works with Program Director and Clinical Nurse Specialist to identify and/or develop alternative methods to meet project deliverables.
Maintains an understanding of the project schedule(s), deliverables, and commitments as set out in project charters and other work plans. Assists with the execution of the project plan according to project methodologies, ensuring the successful and coordinated completion of project components.
Identifies, collects, and analyzes relevant data/information relating to current projects and/or program activities. Conducts basic statistical analyses. Prepares graphs, charts and spreadsheets. May conduct literature searches if required.
Assists with and/or prepares reporting materials, including summaries, written reports, briefing documents, and presentations.
Supports the development and implementation of processes or tools to improve project delivery and related administrative requirements.
Liaises with Clinical Nurse Specialist and other staff to implement communication plans and activities, and with external and internal partners to respond to requests for information, assist with joint initiatives and events, and to coordinate communication
