**Specialist, Corporate Payroll**
Reporting to Team Lead, Dayforce Support, this position ensures the effective and efficient operation of day to day Canada and US Payroll processes while adhering to Company standards and in accordance to Federal, Provincial/State legislation.

**What you will be doing**:
- Process the Corporate US and Canadian semi-monthly & bi-weekly salaried and hourly payrolls in multi-provinces (include Quebec) working with a managed payroll team in an outsourced environment; ensure compliance, accuracy and timeliness.
- Review/Audits: New Hires, Transfers, and Termination entered by T&C
- Validation of Termination payout calculations and request Record of Employment from Service Provider
- Ensure all garnishments are deducted and submitted in a timely manner
- Liaise effectively with Finance, Compensation & Benefits and Corporate Talent & Culture departments to ensure accuracy of payroll and timely processing of payroll
- Coordinate with Ceridian Dayforce Managed Service team on issues or changes related to payroll.
- Maintain EDB matrix of earnings / tax codes and ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Ensure all changes are documented and duly authorized
- Establish and document payroll policies and procedures in accordance with company policy, audit controls and regulatory requirements
- Maintain current knowledge of new legislative measures and payroll best practices, and coordinating the implementation of updated processes
- Respond to requests and inquiries from Employees, management, and external agencies
- Provide data required for payroll and pension audits
- Maintain Payroll Procedures Manual, ensuring ongoing changes are updated in a timely manner
- Respond to government inquiries in USA and Canada (i.e. Service Canada, CRA, Workers Compensation Boards, Ministry of Finance, unemployment insurance).
- Coordinate monthly and quarterly remittances, year-end activities and reporting, including Quebec, as well as annual internal and external payroll process audits
- Prepare and post payroll journal for the month-end processing
- Prepares month end reports
- Review the payroll funds summary report once the payroll reports are delivered (approx. 6 days prior to payday) to ensure total due to outsourced payroll provider is accurate
- Verifies the summary change report (comparing gross pay last pay period to gross pay current pay period) is supported with approved documentation. Signs and dates the document.
- Prepare monthly STIP and quarterly LTIP/ DIP accrual and true up
- Reconcile monthly group benefit premiums against payroll accrual.
- Prepare monthly payroll related balance sheet reconciliation and quarterly P&L reconciliation
- Upload company pension and 401K contribution files to pension service provider in CA and US and prepare payment requisition.
- Work with Tax team of payroll service provider on any Notice of assessments for US payroll
- Assist with special projects and other responsibilities as required
- Assist support team with HCM/Payroll related inquires when needed (Occasionally)
**Your experience and skills include**:
- Diploma in Payroll and/or PCP Designation
- Canada and US Payroll Experience
- Dayforce Payroll Experience required
- Knowledgeable about federal and provincial/state payroll regulations and requirements
- Possess knowledge of basic accounting concepts
- Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
- Previous experience using MS Office (Excel)
- CPM is an asset
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill
**Your team and working environment**:
- This position will be based at the Toronto Regional Office, working within the North & Central America Region Dayforce Team.
