Children's Autism Services of Edmonton is seeking casual Respite Workers for our dynamic and growing organization. As a Respite Worker you will enjoy working a flexible schedule in a rewarding position. We provide family centered in-home and community based services in a child focused, family centered, supportive environment to meet the needs of families and children who have autism and other developmental disorders. Our Respite Workers are dedicated to children, committed to learning new skills, and interested in making a difference

At Children’s Autism Services of Edmonton, we believe that respite care is an essential part of the overall support to families and our Respite Workers will provide care and supervision according to individual child’s needs. As a Respite Worker you will provide support in activities of daily living such as feeding, toileting and dressing, as well as providing learning opportunities and behavioral support with the child’s participation in events and activities. Respite Workers at our centres provide a calm and secure environment for staff to support the child during respite care.

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Ability to provide care and supervision according to the care plan which meets the individual child’s needs at a private home, community and/or centre.
- Ability to provide support with activities of daily living such as toileting, diapering, dressing and feeding children of all ages.
- Ability to provide learning opportunities and behavioural support.
- Applicants will be flexible and responsive and should have experience working with or caring for children.
- Experience with behavior management strategies and experience working with disabilities/ special needs is a definite asset.
- Applicants must have a criminal record check with vulnerable sector, a child intervention check and First Aid & Level-C CPR.
- Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- various shifts available especially evening and weekend shifts

Casual hours vary per week min hours 6 maximum hours 30

**Salary**: $17.00 per hour
