HR and Safety Coordinator (full time, permanent, base in Richmond office, sometime work in Surrey office)

Ebco Metal Finishing LP has over 45 years of experience in metal finishing. Our completed projects range from large outdoor structures to very fine decorative coatings to close tolerance finishes for the high-tech industries. Our two plants totalling over 40,000 square feet are the largest facilities in Western Canada, which allows us to accommodate high volume production capacities and handle very large parts. We are seeking an experienced HR and Safety coordinator to join the administration team in head office, which located at 15200 Knox Way, Richmond, BC. The role is to undertake all aspects of HR and safety functions.

HR:
Responsible for HR that includes (but not limited to) the following:

- Communicate with managers at different departments regarding new hiring needs and employee terminations
- Prepare job description
- Set up and update employee database
- Response to union requests
- Communicate with employees regarding payroll and benefits
- Ensure all regulatory and legislative compliance procedures related to payroll are performed correctly and accurately

Health and Safety:
Responsible for the implementation and ongoing maintenance of health, safety and environmental programs, includes (but not limited to) the following:

- Plan and implement OHS policies and programs
- Advise foremen on various safety related items
- Review existing policies and procedures
- Enforce preventative measures
- Facilitate OHS meeting and minutes
- Orientate all new workers on site
- Keeps record of all safety-related issues within the organization and makes sure that corrective measures are taken
- Organizes routine training on health and safety matters for the staff
- Assists foremen carrying out inspections on a routine basis.
- Prepare WCB reports and assist third parties or government agencies related to any claims, orders, and etc.

Other Responsibilities:

- Other duties as assigned by managers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Thorough research and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task, expert at meeting deadlines while maintaining compliance and regulatory standards
- Working well while under pressure
- Have at least three years of Canadian HR experience
- Possess in-depth knowledge of general safety guidelines (like Occupational Safety and Health guidelines)
- Work in Richmond office and sometime work in Surrey office, far away from public transit, need your own transportation

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
