BCAA is hiring a Temporary Full-Time Fleet Support member to join Evolve Bike Share Team for our Vancouver Island region
- This temporary position spans from April 2024 to December 2024, with potential extension into 2025._

BCAA's Evolve E-Bike Share is expanding to Nanaimo, and we're currently seeking a full-time E-Bike Share Fleet Support team member In this role, you play a pivotal part in ensuring a high-quality member experience with our e-bike fleet and their designated locations. You also provide technical support and troubleshooting throughout Nanaimo. If you thrive in hands-on fieldwork and enjoy working independently, this role is perfect for you. - Replace swappable batteries on shared e-bikes with fully charged ones.-
- Rotate batteries and ensure they are plugged in for charging at the end of each shift.-
- Rebalance parking zones by relocating e-bikes to ensure even distribution throughout the region, using the provided vehicle.-
- Record all fieldwork in our app-based fleet support software and complete daily tracking documentation.-
- Troubleshoot vehicle problems and address fleet-specific inquiries.-
- Perform minor repairs on devices while in the field.-
- Clean all devices and parking zone furniture, such as bike racks and signs.-
- Photograph and document damages of vehicles for review by the Associate Manager.-
- Inspect, document, and determine the best course of action for vehicles involved in accidents or major damage reports from members.-
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test, diagnose, service, and repair in-vehicle telematics equipment cost-effectively.-
- Liase with other team members, Member Service, and Marketing to meet cross-functional requirements.-
- Provide insights and recommendations based on in-the-field observations to support ongoing operational improvements.-
- Drive a Sprinter-style van to transport batteries and e-bikes throughout the region.What You Bring:
- Grade 12 education-
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in a team environment.-
- You can comfortably lift up to 40 lbs and maneuver a 90 lb e-bike. Occasionally, you may need to tip an e-bike back upright from laying on the ground on its side.-
- A clear driver's abstract, with annual renewal required.-
- Experience with bikes, or other mechanical or simple electric devices are an asset.- Internal Applicants: Please note that this is a Grade 8 role and the internal posting will close on April 16, 2024.
- The hourly rate range for this position is $29.17 to $36.47 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%.
