Position Summary

Community Special Events Coordinators; Y on the are responsible for community event organization, financial budgeting, event volunteer supervision, safety, planning, leading and implementing programs for children and community members in a group setting. The Coordinator will liaison with local Community events to coordinate Y on the Move activities out in the Community; free, active family fun. You will also be responsible for the general safety, development and implementation of a daily event in Summer Day Camps based on the theme for the week. Flexibility is required for the position based on operations need. The Employer may alter the terms of the job description at its sole discretion.

**Qualifications**:

- Knowledge in teaching or leadership one or all of the following; Outdoor Sports, Nature Events, Arts, Hikes, Outdoor Fitness or Recreational Group Games
- Experience working with children and adults in an outdoor recreational setting.
- Camp or Sport Coaching experience or lesson planning an asset.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Community networking skills or related experience.
- Access to a reliable vehicle to travel to various community locations.
- First aid & CPR certification is a condition of employment and High Five Training is an asset.
- Enrollment in Post-Secondary is an asset; Education, Recreation, Community Development, Child and Youth or

related program.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills are essential to establishing and maintaining harmonious working

relationships.
- Demonstrated discretion and sound judgement in the handling of confidential information; this includes a high

degree of integrity and trust.
- High level of initiative is needed to work independently and respond to unanticipated items.
- Strong communication, public speaking and presentation skills.
