**JOB SUMMARY**
The Events Associate is part of a team responsible for the overall conceptualization, development, and execution of United Way activities and events. They will play an integral role in ensuring that events are effectively planned and executed, and that appropriate external and internal support resources are in place.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Work with the Events Team, as well as other members of your department, to ensure that all stakeholders have meaningful experiences that lead them to be confident and passionate ambassadors of United Way Winnipeg
- Work collaboratively with the Events Team to implement a Departmental Plan that aligns with the organization’s Strategic Plan and budgeting
- Support the conceptualization, planning, and execution of events that advance United Way’s strategic priorities and goals
- Work with the Director, Brand Experience and Events Manager to determine project needs and requirements
- Provide guidance and support with respect to event planning for all areas of the organization
- Support the creation of detailed proposals for all events, including timelines, venues, vendors, staffing, and budgets
- Assist with identifying and securing speakers, special guests, and/or entertainment for events
- Work with the Events Team to ensure that all details relating to events are successfully implemented
- Provide excellent client service to our attendees and guests
- Responsible for the development and execution of brand experience initiatives, including fostering relationships with third-party partners and community organizations.
- Participate in regular department or team meetings
- Assist others in the organization by completing other duties as assigned
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
You possess the following qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and related experience:
- At least three years of experience coordinating various types of events. Relevant education and experience in a fundraising environment are considered assets.
- Experience managing outcomes/deliverables in a team environment, including budgets.
- Strong project management skills combined with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Experience with fundraising/event software would be an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships, with a focus on client service and donor/volunteer experience
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to learn and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, changing environment and manage several tasks simultaneously
- Proactive and responsive to event and team requirements
- Respectful of confidentiality
- Work outside of regular working hours will be required on occasion, including extended hours on event days
