SLCS is currently seeking two Full-Time Restorative Facilitators to work within a project funded by the Building Safer Communities Fund through The City of London. This project focuses on the prevention of gun and gang violence in schools through the implementation of SLCS’ Restorative Approaches program within the secondary school system. The project is rooted in restorative practices and involves working in school settings with youths, school staff and parents providing support to address conflict from a restorative practice lens whether individually, through peer mediation, or formally in circle conferencing. In addition to supporting students, you will be responsible for assisting in the training of school personnel to enhance capacity of and collaboration between parents, families, community agencies, community members, etc. to support young people at risk of or involved in gun and gang violence.

Restorative Approaches staff embody a unique role that bridges justice, education and community and will participate restoratively in community responses, trainings, initiatives and projects as opportunities arise. You will possess a dynamic and engaging facilitation style and are committed to client-centred service to ensure a meaningful experience for participants. You will be expected to liaise with school personnel on a regular basis, helping to coordinate service delivery and provide updates, feedback and administrative information, as required. While facilitating, you will be responsible for the safety and security of the youth, other staff, and are expected to follow all health and safety / risk management requirements as assigned.

You will be skilled at working with individuals from diverse populations, while working in a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all the applicable and regulatory requirements. You will be required to complete administrative duties, including collection and reporting of statistical data. This position requires significant travel throughout London for off-site program delivery.

**Required Qualifications**

University degree or 2-3 year College diploma from an accredited institution
1-3 years of relevant work experience
Experience working with children and/or youth through justice, Mental Health and/or Education
Standard First Aid/CPR with AED - Level C
Restorative Practices training/certification (preferred)
Valid G class Driver’s License with access to a reliable vehicle

**Required Competencies**

Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to group processes & teamwork
Experience working with youth from 10 to 18 years of age in an educational setting
Excellent Conflict Resolution and Mediation skills
Superior facilitation / presentation skills
Solid judgment and problem-solving skills, particularly in high risk / high stress situations
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
