The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.

**About the Opportunity**:
The Learning Institute, within Interprofessional Practice and Learning (IPP&L), plays a leadership role within the organization in creating a culture of learning with a focus on transition to specialty practice programs, entry-level transition to practice, interprofessional practice education (IPE) and continuing professional practice development. The Learning Institute promotes accountable professional practice in quality practice environments, facilitates patient and family centered care, fosters collaborative team relationships, and supports research and evidence-based practice.

Reporting to the Learning Institute Manager, the Critical Care Paramedic Program Educator is responsible for program and curriculum design: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating learning and education programs. The Critical Care Paramedic Program Educator takes a leadership role in facilitating and promoting a culture of excellence in competency-based education to enable successful transition to practice, practice progression, and learner-centred outcomes for the Critical Care Paramedic Program. The primary focus of the Critical Care Paramedic Program Educator is to coordinate, support, maintain and deliver competency-based educational curriculum in partnership with curriculum leads via classroom, procedural skill/task training, simulation learning, clinical learning, and/or online learning strategies, while advancing practice. The Critical Care Paramedic Program Educator practices according to the Registered Health Professionals Network Act, and in accordance with profession specific acts/legislation the College of Paramedics of Nova Scotia and in accordance with Standards of Practice.

The Critical Care Paramedic Program Educator demonstrates competency in practice, program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education, leadership, and professional practice. The Critical Care Paramedic Program Educator exhibits the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors that align with the IPP&L Framework. This framework is grounded in theories of adult and concept-based learning, practice development, fundamentals of care and collaborative learning and practice.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Successful completion of a Critical Care Paramedic Education Program required
- Master’s degree in Education or other Master’s degree in related discipline required. Consideration will be given to applicants currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree Program
- Active practicing license with College of Paramedics of Nova Scotia required
- Minimum three (3) years' recent experience within Critical Care required
- Current experience with program and curriculum design and revision of classroom, skill/simulation and on-line learning, and practical assessment methods within a formal education program required
- Certificate course in adult education and/or leadership development education an asset
- Simulation Education Program and/or Certification (i.e. CHSOS, CHSE) an asset
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS and ATLS an asset
