**Job description**

The Javelin team is seeking an Ontario-based university or college student for the community manager position to grow the sport of volleyball in Ontario They will be responsible for a variety of tasks which include organizing volleyball games, playing volleyball, customer service, engaging with players from the Javelin mobile app, onboarding new game organizers, helping ensure volleyball games are high quality, and other assigned tasks.

**What is Javelin?**

Javelin is an all in one volleyball mobile app looking to make volleyball the number one played sport, not only in Ontario, but worldwide. We run pickup games, training sessions, tournaments and more through the Javelin platform, where we not only organize games, but also build a community for sport players to feel a sense of belonging.

**What you will do as a community manager**:

- Organize volleyball games
- Play volleyball
- Engage with volleyball players on Javelin
- Work to optimize and enable growth in Volleyball sports groups
- Onboard new game representatives/organizers to ensure volleyball games hosted by Javelin run smoothly
- Look at user experience on the Javelin app and make recommendations to the development team based on findings
- Become the face of Volleyball in Ontario

- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Love for playing volleyball
- Rich history in indoor volleyball, including a good understanding of competitive team-based indoor volleyball games
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Access to a laptop, internet, and mobile device
- A love for people and an extroverted personality
- Welcoming and friendly demeanor

**Education**:Enrolled in any program in an Ontario university or college
**Requirement**: Experience playing indoor volleyball

**Job Types**: Part-time, Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 4 months
Part-time hours: 30 per week

**Salary**: $17.00 per hour
