**About the role**

We’re looking for a Manager, Reinsurance Accounting, to join our growing team

As a Manager, Reinsurance Accounting, your work will have a big impact on our current operations. People will count on you to efficiently manage the reporting of our reinsurance operations to provide reliable and timely reports to senior management and internal business partners.

This role will offer you the chance to:

- Understand the various reinsurance treaties and the impacts of the reinsurance operations on the insurance metrics including combined ratio, growth, expenses and capital required
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to enrich the financial data offer and provide answers for a better understanding of the business
- Work in a dynamic environment and manage ad hoc projects
- Build relationships and networks to support your professional growth and success
- Innovate through your contributions to improve efficiency

You’ll also handle many key responsibilities:

- Management of internal and external monthly, quarterly, and year-end reinsurance reporting by working closely with various departments such as other finance teams, the reinsurance and capital teams
- Research and drive forward process and system improvements to increase the efficiency and availability of reinsurance data for analysis and monthly reporting
- Coordinate in various projects within the reinsurance department
- Help facilitate the audit process and liaise with internal and external auditors.
- Lead and develop a team of reinsurance specialists to support the above activities
- Simplify, standardize, secure and increase controls of different work files: contribute to maintaining a robust internal control environment.
- Maintain 52 109 documentation and ensure the accuracy of audit evidence for test purposes.

Your Skills
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA)
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in accounting, IFRS accounting standards and finance
- Knowledge of the P&C insurance industry
- Fast learning, agility and adaptability to change
- Discipline, autonomy and professionalism
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact with various people at all levels of the organization, including management and some external stakeholders
