**Description**

**SSE Operations Staff** within the **Schulich School of Engineering **is currently seeking a Full-time Limited Term **Wellness Specialist** **for approximately 24 months.

This position will report to the Manager, Operations, and is located at the University's main campus. The Wellness Specialist promotes awareness on wellness outreach and programs and resources primarily for undergraduate and graduate students in the Schulich School of Engineering (SSE), as well as faculty and staff. The Wellness Specialist will work in collaboration with Student Wellness Services and Staff Wellness. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 35 hours/week, with the need to work outside of regular hours from time to time. This position is located primarily on campus with occasional remote work possible.

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):
Program Development and Facilitation
- Coordinate with Student Wellness Services, Staff Wellness, and the wider community on program and resource opportunities.
- Provide health and wellness program supports and resources in the Wellness Room.
- Identify, assess, design, and implement effective established mental health and wellness resources and programs new to SSE and coordinate with Student Wellness Services and Staff Wellness.
- Deliver support for students such as peer sharing initiatives in a safe inclusive space.
- Encourage and support students in developing self-care strategies while balancing academic demands.
- Encourage students, faculty, and staff to seek appropriate professional support and wellness resources as appropriate.
- Develop and deliver presentations, information sessions, and training modules, including the support of Wellness Certificates.
- Support the growth of the SSE Wellness Certificates.
- Create and implement materials for wellness programing.
- Plan and coordinate various events and activities such as lunch and learns.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes to enhance service delivery effectiveness.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive space.

Operational Support and Leadership
- Manage the schedule of the Wellness Room and work with students/staff to maintain the consistent operation of the space.
- Exercise sound judgment and making decisions which directly impact the programs, services, and operational effectiveness of the Wellness Room.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to provide consistent wellness programing.
- Provide event support and administration for wellness related events and activities.
- Work in close collaboration with the leadership team within SSE.
- Effectively interpret, communicate, and ensure compliance with University and SSE regulations, policies and procedures when providing assistance to faculty, staff, and current and students.
- Provide reports and data collection for the SSE Wellness Certificates.
- Gather, analyze, and report on student metrics on a semester basis, including developing strategies to proactively identify gaps in student success.
- Promote a collaborative team environment through excellent role modeling.

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- An Undergraduate degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years proven experience in health/wellness promotion.
- Demonstrated skill in understanding of cultural differences.
- Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Event management skills considered an asset.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, adaptability, and confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships and communicate with students, faculty, staff, and other internal / external stakeholders.
- Proven organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities, multitask and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, juggle multiple timelines, negotiate with others, and interact with a diverse client base.
- Well-developed decision-making, problem-solving, creative thinking, and planning skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate with others, as well as recognize and act on opportunities as they arise.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze business needs and participate in the development of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures; including aligning staff and resources to achieve targets.
