FG Deli Group Ltd. located in Langley BC, is the progressive leader in the manufacturing of premium, Quality, European meat products.

We are currently recruiting for a **Packaging Supervisor **for the afternoon shift. This is an excellent opportunity for a detailed, process-oriented person who is eager to take initiative in a challenging fast paced environment.

This position reports to the Ready to Eat Manager and is responsible for planning, leading and organizing day to day activities and ensuring an effective and competent team of front line leaders and employees contributing to meet departmental productivity goals and quality standards.

As part of your ongoing training, you will be working side by side with our other Packaging Supervisors and Lead Hands to better familiarize your knowledge of our product.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Supervise up to 70 direct reports (i.e., Team leads and packaging employees)
- Liaise with other department supervisors and managers.
- Manage employee work schedule - based on production/packaging schedule.
- Manage employee timecards & approve employee vacation requests.
- Conduct employee performance review and provide coaching.
- Deliver shift and safety crew talks.
- Manage departmental standard operating procedures
- Monitor work area to ascertain progress of scheduled work and observe employees to verify conformity with prescribed SOP, work quality, productivity, worker safety, regulation, and food quality & safety.
- Enforce all company, regulatory and policies/procedures/ requirements.
- Assist with troubleshooting in the department.
- Assist with the departmental continuous improvement process.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Skills and Specifications**:

- Five plus years of experience in a food manufacturing environment with 2+ years of experience as a supervisor preferred.
- Previous experience in a CFIA Inspected establishment is an asset.
- Completion of a college diploma/university degree in a related field or a designation with the American Production and Inventory Control Society-APICS (e.g., CPIM) preferred
- Computer literacy (e.g., MRP/ERP system, ADP labor management system, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Good knowledge in GMP, HACCP and other food quality & safety related regulations
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the company.
- Good judgment, diplomacy, and discretion
- Good organization, multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management skills
- Fluent in oral and written English
- Customer-focus attitude
- Highly dependable and responsible
- Ability to work independently but thrive in a team environment.
- Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, TQM or Six-Sigma is an asset
- Willing to work in a mixed office and plant environment under refrigeration.

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday

- Langley, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
