Altus Group is currently seeking a Payroll Coordinator based out of our Toronto office to join our Finance Department. This role will be fully remote (work from home). The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of semi-monthly payroll. We are looking for someone who works well under pressure. The incumbent should be able to efficiently coordinate payroll tasks and strictly follow company polices and legal regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare adjustments and entries in the system for all employment offers, bonus payments, increase, and other employee transactions;
- Auditing payroll entries and maintaining payroll records;
- Preparing and submitting journal entries, calculating and requesting manual cheques and completing forms, such as Records of Employment, Government Requests for Information, Workers Comp Returns;
- Responding in a timely manner to payroll inquiries from employees, management and external agencies and assisting with the resolution of payroll issues;
- Generating reports and preparing summaries;
- Assisting with special payroll related projects, such as balancing T4s and Releve 1 statements at year end, preparing annual Workers Comp Returns and Provincial Health Annual Returns.
**Key Requirements**:
- College diploma in the related discipline;
- Active certified member of the CPA, Payroll designation preferred;
- Experience with ADP, Workforce Now, Workday will be considered an asset ;
- Experience with processing payroll across Canada including the Province of Quebec;
- Bilingual (English and French) will be considered an asset;
- Ability to work flexible hours when required;
- Ability to work within a team environment and independently;
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills;
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
