This dual role of Wealth Advisor (Credential Asset Management Inc.) and Insurance Advisor (Credential Financial Strategies Inc.) contributes positively to the members’ journey by playing a key role in providing Wealth and insurance planning and building relationships. This role completes a thorough review of a member’s financial and insurance needs. This role provides recommendations that meet the members’ needs today and into the future. The role will proactively seek business development opportunities with current and potential members to promote wealth accumulation and wealth preservation. The position will be required to create an annual business plan to build the business and provide financial/insurance planning and investment recommendations.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Responsible for proactively maintaining and growing an existing mutual fund and insurance book of business
- Develop and provide detailed financial solutions for members including, but not limited to retirement, education, insurance solutions, asset allocation and risk management.
- Engage in proactive advice and business development activities, including follow-up and professional contact with prospects; maintain close working partnerships with other areas of the credit union and make referrals to the applicable partners of the credit union.
- Build new business from referrals from existing members, external centers of influence, internal ACU relationships and others within the AFG team.
- Accountable for reaching advice, revenue, planning and referral targets annually.
- Provides advice and acts in accordance with ethical standards.
- Maintain current and relevant knowledge of industry trends and competitor landscape.
- Always maintain educational requirements and licensing in good standing.
- Demonstrates understanding and leads by example of ACU’s commitment to values, respectful workplace and diversity and inclusion

- Ensure that all programs, policies and processes are implemented in a manner that supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
- Follows all regulatory guidelines and meets audits requirements.

**Qualifications**:
Education and Experience:
The competencies for the position would typically be acquired through the achievement of a Business Degree, plus three years of direct job-related experience. Registration as a Mutual Fund representative and Completion of Investment Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course (“CSC”) is required. CFP or PFP designation is required. Life Insurance Qualifying program required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Registered Mutual Fund Representative
- Strong advice and relationship building skills, with an aptitude for working towards performance targets.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of financial planning, Insurance planning and management of member relationships.
- Strong professional communication, teamwork and collaborative skills
- Proactive relationship building skills and the ability to make outbound contact with members and prospects.
- Proven knowledge of life insurance products and services preferred. General understanding of credit union operations
- Maintain current knowledge of all regulatory changes, policies, procedures, compliance and legislation.

Mutual Funds are offered through Credential Asset Management Inc. Credential Financial Strategies Inc. offers financial planning, life insurance and investments to members of credit unions and their communities.
