We are currently recruiting for a **Journeyperson Carpenter **to join our team in **Fort McMurray, AB**.

**The normal shift schedule consists of 14 consecutive days of work followed by 14 consecutive days off.**_ You will be provided with local accommodation for duration of your shift and a travel allowance to and from Fort McMurray per shift._**

The job duties for the Journeyman/Journeywoman Carpenter include responding to service requests from building occupants, completing routine maintenance, performing planned inspections, coordinating with other colleagues, and performing work as directed by the Lead and on-site Client Supervisor.
- Compete work orders and minor work request on a daily basis.
- Ensure follow up by designated personnel when permits are complete.
- Respond to requests for services from the occupants of the offices and shops.
- Use SAP for processing new work notifications and managing open notifications to support building and occupant needs.
- Complete routine maintenance and inspections on Carpenter shop equipment, tools and systems.
- Assist with the co-ordination of work by contractors on projects.
- Communicates with and works with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology, and company.
- Keeps up to date and informed on company products, services and policies.
- Presents a professional image of Convergint at all times in appearance and behaviour.
- Communicates with and works with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of Convergint and the client's site

**Service Requests Responsibilities**
- Respond to maintenance notifications in a courteous and timely manner.
- Under the direction of the Carpenter/Sheet Metal Lead and on-site Client Supervisor perform minor maintenance functions for all carpentry-related tasks.
- Identify problems and provide the service within defined timelines.
- Provide information to close service request and record comments for future reference.
- Verify work completion after permits are returned.
- Respond to emergency requirements; must carry a cellular, or two-way radio.
- Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**
- Minimum of five years of previous, commercial or industrial based Carpentry experience.
- Journeyman/Journeywoman Carpenter certification is required.
- Finish Carpentry experience required
- Experience in operating building systems is required.
- Must be a self-starter and work well with mínimal supervision.
- Travel to and on jobsites is required; valid driver’s license required.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep tools and work area tidy.
- Strong working knowledge of all aspects of building operations and maintenance.
- Strong ability to effectively identify and solve building related problems.
