Building Maintenance Supervisor

Lake Louise, Canada The Lake Louise Ski Area Ltd Full time

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the main goal of this position is to effectively supervise the department providing all building maintenance support for the resorts infrastructure and housing facilities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Regular & unscheduled inspections and maintenance of all staff buildings & utilities
- Participate in maintaining a high standard of safety
- Schedule, train and monitor the building maintenance team
- Coordinate construction projects and hire contractors as required
- Assign and follow up work orders and projects
- Communication link to management for department employees
- Accurate record keeping of regular inspections, maintenance, and projects
- Work closely with Building Maintenance, Operations and facility operators, and in cooperation with all departments
- Ensure that all maintenance staff are offered comprehensive training for various skills pertaining to the job
- Skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical work in from small job to large restorations in all our staff residences

**Job Requirements**:

- Must be able to lift, push, pull and move food, equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds.
- Flexibility with scheduled shifts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving ability
- Excellent conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
- Ability to smile and have fun while accomplishing all required tasks is essential
- Adhere to all LLSR policies and procedures

**Qualifications**:

- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- MUST possess strong building trade skills
- Must be a Journeyman Carpenter, Plumber or Electrician with previous experience running a building maintenance team.
- Ability to balance the needs of, staff, maintenance, tenants, and outside interests
- Energetic and self -motivated with a willingness to learn new skills
