**About the role**:
The Business Process Automation and Application Development team within Canadian Operations is a team of highly skilled technical professionals who deliver solutions that automate manual, repetitive processes. The goal is to enhance the effectiveness of Operations functions so staff can focus on more value driven decision support and analytics. Our solutions span a range of technologies including Pega Robotics, Microsoft.NET, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft SQL Server.

As a **Business Analyst**, you will work in an agile environment playing a key role in delivering an improved client experience while increasing operational efficiency through automation. You will be responsible for supporting the implementation of diverse projects. The Business Analyst will work in a client-centric environment that ensures excellent service delivery for all our internal clients. This role will be responsible for gathering and defining business needs, setting project scope, creating detailed business requirements for implementation by software developers, creation and execution of test plans, system documentation and training/transition of projects to the support team.

**What will you do?**
- Collaborate with business partners and project team to refine process automation opportunities into tangible and executable solutions
- Actively engage in assessing business value, risk, and priority of solutions with business partners and the project team
- Builds context by pushing beyond "how things are done" to understand "why" and uncover the underlying principles shaping the business
- Communicate in clear and concise business language details of technical solutions and decisions made by the development team, ensuring solutions and decision implications are well understood by Product Owners and business partners
- Take responsibility to ensure a quality product, by creating and executing test plans to validate that solutions meet requirements, performance, and stability specifications
- Proactively recognize business trends and/or Company policies that affect Business Practices and make recommendations for process/system enhancements

**What you need to succeed**:

- Proven Business Analysis competency, understanding business drivers, eliciting business requirements, and effective documentation skills
- Acquired facilitation and leadership skills driving requirement management plans and requirement gathering sessions
- Client Experience thinking putting customer first while balancing organizational goals and objectives
- A collaborative team player willing to step out of predefined roles for the good of the team and project
- Be a driver and promoter of project solutions to stakeholders and business partners
- Ability to builds context by pushing beyond "how things are done" to understand "why" and uncover the underlying principles shaping the business
- Experience tailoring your method of communication to various audiences for different technical and business solutions
- Innovative, lateral thinker with strong problem-solving skills

**Assets**:

- Experience working in an Agile environment
- UX / UI design experience
- Experience optimizing business processes
- Insurance and/or Financial Service industry knowledge or experience as asset
- University degree

- Some project work may be required outside of regular office hours to support critical time lines and/or critical deliverables
- ** This role requires Canadian Enhanced Reliability Security clearance [a minimum of 5 years of consecutive residency in Canada].**
