**Major Tasks and Responsibilities**

**Technical**

The position requires technical abilities to load and unload stock, to operate electrical and manual loading ramps and to use hand trolleys, hydraulic pump trucks, shrink wrapper, scales and banding equipment. A **valid tow motor certificate** is required to safely operate tow motors.

**Knowledge**

Good customer service practices are part and parcel of the Team Leader’s role as they represent the company when communicating with customers, trucking companies and suppliers. A strong knowledge of computers and the Syteline system will enable the Team Leader to maintain records and generate activity reports. A good knowledge of mathematics is required to calculate amounts accurately.

**Leadership**

The Team Leader provides group leadership to Stock handlers. The Team Leader demonstrates an approachable disposition, and is appreciative of others. They assist in the ongoing training and development of stock handlers.

**Communications**

Team Leaders require good oral and written communication skills to interact with trucking companies and provide information as directed. Good writing skills are required to record accurate information, as well as to correspond with other departments, customers and suppliers.

**Interpersonal**

Team Leaders are required to work well independently and as team players. They are expected to be self motivated, flexible, punctual, reliable and demonstrate respect for others.

**Safety**

Team Leaders are responsible to follow and enforce safety practices and procedures. As safety minded individuals, they drive and operate lift trucks and company vehicles with alertness and awareness. They regularly perform circle checks of their trucks and ensure trailer wheels are chocked before loading and unloading materials.

**Experience**
