**Requirements include**:

- Completion of a degree in civil engineering, with considerable related experience in administrative management and land development. Registration as a professional engineer in BC is required. Additional training in public administration and law is desired.
- Knowledge of the concepts, practices, and techniques of municipal engineering and administration as applied to public works infrastructure planning.
- Knowledge of municipal strategies, functions, and programs as well as the relevant legislation, policies, procedures, by-laws, regulations, and rules.
- Planning and coordination skills to coordinate the development, implementation, and delivery of a variety of engineering programs and services.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts such as Municipal contacts, other levels of government, business officials, and the public.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills to determine the economic and engineering feasibility of projects and prioritize programs.
- People leadership skills to select, train, motivate, coach, direct, and evaluate a team of professional, technical, and support staff.
- Research and analytical skills to analyze data and prepare and evaluate engineering studies and designs.
- Valid BC driver’s license.
