**Focus**

The primary focus of the IT Fall Student Internship position is to provide support to The Star Group companies through the usage of leading and innovative technologies in the server and network areas.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Working within the IT Help Desk to provide fast, effective support to staff in all locations across North America.
- Ensure reliability, performance and integrity in supporting and maintaining The Star Groups data center and end to end infrastructure.
- Work with team members to successfully execute infrastructure projects in the workstation, server, network and security areas.
- Helping end users become more effective through casual and formal training.
- Upgrading and patching Windows operating systems.
- Troubleshooting technology related issues with hardware and software.
- Testing, troubleshooting and disposal of computer hardware.
- Research current and future technologies.
- Writing documentation.

**Education and Experience**:

- Enrollment in a post-secondary technology discipline within the IT field: Computer Science/Network Technician/Systems Technician, etc.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows client and server operating systems.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
- Strong teamwork skills and commitment to being part of a team dedicated to excellence.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- A passion for growth, personal development, innovation and success.
