Receiver (Indoor/ Outdoor)

**Job Requirements**

The Receiver plays a key role in the Materials Department. They are responsible to receive parts and other materials, to ensure they are accurately checked and documented, and efficiently distributed to stock or inspection. They are experienced, able to work at a demanding pace, and must demonstrate a strict attention to detail. The Receiver is part of a team whose goal is to ensure an efficient and problem-free flow of materials and supplies to the production floor, creating seamless integration of supply and manufacturing.

**External Contacts**: Suppliers, incoming and outbound transportation providers
**Key Responsibility Areas**
**Receive Materials**:
- Unloads goods from trucks or other delivery methods.
- Inspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, recording shortages and damaged goods.
- Unpacks materials as required, ensures they are inspected on a timely basis, affixes stock tags and directs their prompt storage in the correct location.
- Records arriving goods and enters them in inventory records.
**Ship Materials**:
- Determines method of shipment and arranges shipping.
- Determines appropriate packaging for outbound parts and materials, including assembly of containers and crates if required.
- Records contents, packs goods to be shipped and affixes identifying information and shipping instructions.
**Equipment Operation**:
- Operates various equipment, which may include forklift, pallet jack or hand truck to load, unload, transport and store goods.
**Administrative Functions**:
- Prepares bills of lading, customs forms, invoices and other shipping documents.
- Accurately enters received goods into inventory system.
- Ensures packing slips and other receiving documentation flows to accounting on a timely basis.
**Projects / Other Assignments**:
- Assists in purchasing as required or assigned.
- Works on related projects or initiatives as assigned.
**Qualifications**
**Experience**:
- 3 - 5 years related shipping / receiving experience in a warehouse setting.
- Inventory control.
- Documentation and data entry.
**Education**:
- Grade 12

**Working Conditions**
- Some work is performed in an office environment.
- Work will be performed indoors and outdoors, unloading material and facilitating storage in our yard. The employee is responsible for ensuring they are appropriately clothed for all conditions. Some protective clothing may be provided.
- The Shipper/Receiver is frequently in the industrial manufacturing shop environment which may involve loud noise and dusty conditions.
- The employee must provide CSA-Approved steel-toed boots, and the Company will provide all other PPE as needed. Correct and consistent use of appropriate PPE is a requirement of this position.
