**What you’ll do**

The Team Lead Customs Advisor role is responsible for the overall Customs operational and regulatory compliance to ensure smooth product flow and that Canadian Tire maintains Trusted Trader status with Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). This role is to ensure CTC is up-to-date on regulatory requirements with commercially viable methodologies in order to assure efficient and effective Customs compliance measures are employed within the CTC Enterprise.
- Develop risk-mitigating policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with import and export activities.
- Ensure CTC retains Customs Self-Assessment (CSA), Partners in Protection (PIP) and Customs Trade Partners Against Terrorism (CTPAT) certifications.
- Responsible for CBSA Audits and government inquires relating to Customs.
- Design and development of internal audits to ensure compliance with Customs regulations as well as identifying opportunities for duty reduction.
- Support continuous improvement strategies for internal Customs systems.

**What you bring**
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in business or international trade.
- Certified Customs Specialist designation (mandatory), Certified Trade Compliance Specialist designation (preferred).
- 5-8 years experience in Customs compliance and 2-3 years of leadership experience.
- Knowledge / experience with CTPAT & PIP requirements and in Customs Self-Assessment (CSA) environment.
- Experience leading small team.
- Knowledge /experience with U.S Customs_._
- Project management exposure.
