We are currently seeking a Marine Tech to join our Pirate Cove Marina team. We are a full-service marina located in Kemptville, Ontario. We are a Mercury, Mercruiser, Volvo, Yamaha and Evinrude dealer. This is a full-time position to start as soon as possible.

This position requires mechanical experience, positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. As well as working well with others, problem solving, continuous learning and reliability. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:

- Diagnosing and repairing outboards/inboards
- Installing and repairing electronics on boats
- Installing accessories on boats
- Repairing and maintaining fuel systems
- Inspecting and maintaining boat trailers
- Performing warranty repairs
- Operating equipment i.e., hydraulic trailers, forklift, travel lift
- Performing maintenance to marina equipment
- Travel to sites for service calls when required, keeping time accounted for
- Assisting with maintaining a clean environment at the dealership
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner.
- Assist with maintaining an organized shop.
- Ability to accurately quote jobs.
- Assist in maintaining the marinas vehicles
- trucks, trailers, forklifts.
- Maintain time records on workorders.
- Ability to use a computer for electrical diagnostic software systems.
- Ability to trailer boats and watercraft safely.
- Being accountable for your actions.
- Willing to work outdoors and around water.
- Willing to work weekends during the summer.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
- Must be a team player.

Qualifications:

- Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and successfully repair.
- Minimum 2 years work experience in the operation, repair and maintenance of small equipment, both gasoline type engines; diesel equipment & Hydraulic systems are an asset.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment with accuracy and speed.
- Work effectively & cooperatively with fellow employees.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing about repairs.
- Ability to maintain written equipment maintenance records.
- Minimum basic knowledge of marine motors
- Wages will be based on knowledge, work experience and certifications.

**Requirements**:

- Valid drivers license G or higher.
- Boating license.
- Tools & toolbox.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting.
- Attending technical training courses when available to improve proficiency and quality of work.

Assets
- Mercury/Mercruiser, Volvo, or any other manufacture Certification
- Marine Experience
- Forklift Certification
- Experience at trailering boats
- Automotive experience
- Bilingual

**Salary**: $15.50-$35.00 per hour
