**JOB PURPOSE**:
The Supervisor, QA oversees the performance of the YYZ/YQA, QA Team and is responsible for the scheduling and the administration of the QA system and its related activities as required by Transport Canada, in order to ensure Skyservice continues to meet minimum regulatory, airworthiness, or other requirements in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
**SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements;
- Supervise QA staff to ensure performance standards are achieved;
- Manage performance and high priority issues and escalate to the QA Manager;
- Ensure that Maintenance personnel (under the authority of this position) comply with the company technical records requirements, and maintain a high standard of workmanship and quality;
- Ensure that all personnel have proper certifications;
- Support the SMS Program by carrying out duties and responsibilities as assigned;
- Participate in internal and external audits;
- Participate in developing the audit program that meets all regulatory and Skyservice requirements to measure and assess the quality of the work to be audited;
- Liaise with Department Managers, Vendors and other stakeholders on audit issues and findings;
- Takes action to close QA Department audit findings on time and is proactive in addressing issues to eliminate recurring findings;
- Publishes audit findings and status of corrective action plans to raise visibility of non-conformances and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken within required timelines;
- Perform periodic surveillance checks on a variety of aircraft maintenance activities;
- Ensure regulatory compliance information is up-to-date and accessible;
- Follow-up with YYZ QA Inspector(s) to ensure correctable items are in process and tracked to completion within regulatory requirements and acceptable timelines;
- Provide advice as appropriate to assist department managers to successfully close open audit items.
**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED**:
- Valid Transport Canada M1/M2 license is mandatory;
- A minimum of 8-10 years of related experience in the aviation industry, including two (2) years in a quality assurance function;
- Demonstrates thorough and up-to-date knowledge of Transport Canada and Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Safety Management System (SMS), and other regulatory requirements and amendments, and has a solid understanding and knowledge of the minimum requirements needed to remain in compliance with the regulators and internal policies and procedures;
- Demonstrates and understanding of safety and security issues;
- Demonstrates leadership accountability;
- Proficient with operational planning and time management.
**EDUCATION**:
- College level education in Aircraft Maintenance/Quality Assurance is required, or equivalent experience preferred.
