**What will you be doing?**
- Supporting the Manager, WL Licensing & End-State by coordinating licensing activities across CNL.
- Leading the preparation of the annual reports; reviewing other sites annual reports to ensure consistency.
- Leading preparations for CNSC Commission hearings and meetings.
- Maintaining a schedule of licensing activities for CNL and managing routine communications within a defined CNL licensing area.
- Participating as a regulatory affairs representative in various meetings.
- Providing regulatory assistance and guidance to CNL, especially, to the Designated Representatives of the licencee (DROLs), i.e., Program Authorities, Facility Authorities, and Safety and Control Area owners.
- Leading and/or participating facilities and programs in the preparations for inspection and the inspections from a regulatory affairs perspective.
- Assisting facilities and programs in compliance reviews to ensure they are meeting the requirements in the site licence.
- Providing guidance on the interpretation of regulatory requirements, including licensing basis assessments.
- Identifying potentially reportable events.
- Determining classification of regulatory actions and commitments.
- Tracking and managing regulatory commitments CNL within a defined licensing area.
- Preparing and reviewing licensing correspondence, preliminary verbal and full unplanned event reports, presentations, responses to CNSC questions.
- Supporting activities associated with the Regulatory Affairs Transformation Plan.
- Producing and revising regulatory affairs process documentation and coordinating the production of this documentation.
- Providing training to CNL personnel on the branch documentation.
- Preparing licensing protocols, progress reports and other licensing submissions.
- Reviewing and providing comments on CNSC issued regulatory documents.
- Review CNSC regulatory documents in consideration of CNL licence requirements.
- Coordinating with Industry peers and submitting comments to CNSC staff.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.

**What we are looking for**:

- Education
- University graduate with Honors in Engineering or Science or equivalent from a university of recognized standing is required.
- Experience
- Five to eight (5-8) years' of experience in a highly regulated environment, resulting in sound technical knowledge of interpretation of regulatory requirements.
- Experience with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of Acts, Regulations, standards, CNL licences, licence conditions handbooks, and ability to work effectively as a team member, and with mínimal supervision.
- Knowledge of CNL’s Management System, Quality Assurance, Health, Safety, Security and Environment programs, as well as other Safety and Control Areas.
- Ability to understand and describe technical issues pertaining to regulatory matters.
- Must have good organizational skills, be highly motivated, and be a quick learner.
- Ability to make recommendations on the priority of work needed to support the Manager, Regulatory Affairs.
- Ability to write and review various types of correspondence and reports.
- Ability to write technical documents.
- Must possess good communication and written skills. The incumbent will have direct contact with regulatory agencies and must be precise and fluent in what they say and write, with an eye for detail.
- Must have good organizational skills, be highly motivated, and be a quick learner.

- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of **7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom**. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

**Working Conditions**:

- Computer/screen time, attention to detail required.
- Attendance at inspections or project areas would require briefing of any hazards associated with the visit (ie, construction site, operating facility, facility under decommissioning, waste management areas).
- This position will be hybrid remote. There will be a requirement to attend site and participate in compliance assessments and assist facilities and programs in preparations for inspections and attendance at inspections.
