**Position**: Municipal Land Use Planner

**Location**: Toronto, Ontario

**Job Type**: Full-time
**Start Date**: July 1
**Compensation**: $70,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience.

**Primary Tasks/Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and analyze development proposals, including conducting research and policy analysis.
- Understand and determine the applicability of relevant local, provincial, and federal government regulations on an individual project basis.
- Manage day-to-day file management, including coordinating and communicating with lawyers and consultants, and ongoing liaising with clients.
- Conduct due diligence reviews on corporate transactions involving real estate with respect to a property’s land use policy context, compliance with regulations and policies, and analysis of development or intensification potential.
- Manage projects and consultation with stakeholders and complete reporting for land use planning projects.
- Assist other department team members, including support with Local Planning Appeal Tribunals and the Ontario Land Tribunal, as required.
- Assist with special projects and assignments, as required.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- University education in Urban Planning.
- 3-6+ years of municipal land use planning experience, including development and approvals processes in Ontario in either the private or public sector, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must hold a valid Ontario driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.
- Obtained or working towards obtaining full membership with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute/Canadian Institute of Planners is an asset.
