You are a self-starter who strongly believes in our mission of _fostering a relationship between people and their city _and are passionate and excited to do that through the power of journalism. You'll be responsible for creating food content that is compelling, concise, and relevant to our audience. Reporting to the National Dished Editor, you will work with our Dished team and entire Editorial Department and be a key player in the day-to-day content production.

**What you'll do**:

- Pitch engaging and timely food-related stories and topical features on a daily basis, including seasonal lists and general roundups
- Accept assignments from the National Dished Editor and other Editors, delivering multiple high-quality articles within set deadlines on a daily basis
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the food and beverage industry in Vancouver and other relevant locations, as well as competitor activity
- Capture photos and video clips that enhance the storytelling process for articles and Daily Hive/Dished social media platforms (this includes on-camera work and being comfortable hosting videos)
- Be able to rapidly transition from content creation to the distribution stage, ensuring a timely flow of information
- Produce the twice-weekly Dished newsletter
- Utilize social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, X/Twitter, and Facebook to promote written content and engage with the audience when required
- Travel for assignments, including within Vancouver, Metro Vancouver, and the Fraser Valley region
- Regularly attend events, tastings, and other activities during evenings, weekends, and non-standard office hours
- Maintain an active and engaging presence on social media platforms in line with Daily Hive's brand voice
- Represent Daily Hive at various culinary events and establish a strong network within the food and beverage community

**What you have**:

- Excellent writing skills, including the ability to craft engaging and informative articles quickly
- 2+ years of proven experience in content creation, journalism, or related fields, with a strong portfolio showcasing writing and photography skills
- A passion for food, culinary trends, and the local food scene
- Proficiency in photography and videography, with the ability to shoot and sometimes edit compelling visual content
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and attend events outside of regular office hours, including evenings and weekends
- Active on social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, X/Twitter, and Facebook
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team.
- Familiarity with the principles of SEO
- Knowledge of the Vancouver food and beverage scene is a significant advantage
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for assignments (having a car or access to a vehicle is a huge bonus)
