The High-Risk Youth Worker works in collaboration with Child Services and other external agencies. The High-Risk Youth Worker provides assistance and support to youth so they can lead healthier and more stable lives while also increasing their opportunities for success. The Youth Worker addresses issues with a harm-reduction and strength-based approach.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Ensure all data collection and reporting are carried out in an efficient and timely manner.
- Responsible for case management in collaboration with service teams which include Child Services caseworkers.
- Coordinate with service teams and professional partners to ensuring intervention strategies are utilized appropriately
- Build rapport with youth clients and continuously arrange follow-up discussions
- Assist in creating a safe supportive environment which respects the self-agency of youth
- Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and appropriate referrals to community services.
- Advocate within systems to ensure youth are supported in their goals and basic needs.
- Provide guidance and support for making referrals with youth on issues related to health, family, addictions, education, employment, and housing.
- Establish working relationships with Boyle Street Community Services staff, the High-Risk Youth Initiative, coordinated youth response initiative, and the C5 partners.
- Respect and meet the various cultural needs of the Youth and connect them to cultural resources within the C5 and Boyle Street.
- Work with the Youth Services team to deliver the Coordinated Youth Response to the youth accessing services at the Community Centre.
- BSCS is more than a workplace. It is a community where everyone helps and contributes to the whole, and there is an expectation that all employees will take part in events (during the work week and occasionally during weekends and evenings). This includes fundraising campaigns, running community meals, medicine picking etc.

**Qualifications**
- Post Secondary Education in a relevant field of study (Social Work/Human Services) and/or relevant work experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with high-risk youth
- Familiarity with data collection, case management and reporting processes
- Police Check with the Vulnerable Sector and Child and Youth Intervention Check completed within the past six months
- Valid First Aid certificate or enrolled in a future course
- Valid Class 5 Non GDL license and access to a reliable vehicle

Experience with and knowledge of Indigenous culture and ceremonies is considered an asset.
