**Associate - Accounting Assistant **- Full time, Permanent

Preeminent boutique Canadian CPA, CA firm specializing in accounting, tax and business management for the entertainment industry, with a focus on music. You won’t find a lot about us on-line and that’s by design We are a referral only firm and do not publicly advertise. We are located in Burlington, Ontario and provide business management & tax services to leading musicians, songwriters and producers across Canada and beyond.

We are looking for a well organized, personable, and reliable person who is willing to support our team with administrative duties. We welcome those who work well with a team, like to learn, ask questions and show up with a positive attitude.

**Responsibilities**:

- Complete bookkeeping from bank statements, investment statements and other documents provided by clients using QuickBooks and Excel software
- Enter and prepare accounts payable (ie. Bank wires, EFTs, ACH payments)
- Assist with the preparation of Canadian tax returns (corporate and personal), supporting schedules and working papers
- Assist with the preparation of leadsheets and financial statements
- Assist with the preparation of Canadian and US tax slips
- Reconcile bank, investment and credit card accounts, and match receipts
- Enter credit card statements using Quickbooks
- Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers for clients
- Enter credit card statements
- Prepare cash disbursements and make bank deposits
- Prepare spreadsheets for various uses
- Correspondence with CRA
- Maintain filing system
- Other office duties
- Prepare correspondence

**Requirements**:

- Personable and willing to learn
- Knowledge of accounting
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Integrity and ability to maintain client confidentiality is a must
- Organized, reliable, and punctual
- Ability to multi task and prioritize assignments
- Knowledge of QuickBooks is an asset
- Previous experience of tax return preparation is an asset

NOTE: This role mandates in-office presence and does not provide the opportunity for remote work. Applicants must be prepared to work full-time at our office location.

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
