As the Manager of Maintenance Buildings and Grounds, you will plan and manage services and projects related to the building maintenance program. This includes overseeing electronic monitoring of systems, waste management, water systems, and fire suppression and hydrant systems for historical buildings and other structures. Additionally, you will coordinate the daily work activities of external service providers, internal tradespeople, and housekeeping staff who perform facility maintenance duties.

**About Our Branch**
The Ministry of Education's Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch (PDSB) is responsible for the direct operation of four sites that operate provincial and demonstration schools for pupils who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, low vision, Deafblind and students with severe learning disabilities. The Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch oversees the policies and operation of the schools. In addition, the schools provide lodging facilities for the pupils; provide alternative programs as part of a continuum of services offered by local school boards; partners with parents/guardians and external stakeholders in meeting the needs of students who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, low vision, Deafblind and students with severe learning disabilities. PDSB also operates Alternate Educational Resources Ontario (AERO) which develops and provides learning materials and media in accessible formats in both English and French for elementary, secondary, and postsecondary pupils with perceptual disabilities; provides a Resource Services program that serves children of preschool age who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, low vision and/or Deafblind and their families; and provides teacher training and consultation services to English language district school boards.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: Reporting to the Manager, Operations & Branch Infrastructure, you will:

- Provide on-site management of licensed trades persons in the provision of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, general and grounds maintenance.
- Plan, coordinate and implement effective maintenance, grounds keeping, construction and renovation projects.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment on campus.
- Co-ordinate, organize and recommend approval of construction/renovation plans.
- Budget, prioritize and manage maintenance projects.
- Support a values-based and inclusive team through technical, administrative, and operational direction to staff.
- Provide quality client service to stakeholders.
