The opportunity

The Manager, IT Business Analysis is responsible and accountable for the management and leadership of personnel in the assigned area of expertise.

This role assures the delivery of quality business solutions, on-time, and within budget. This is accomplished through the analysis of; stakeholder needs, opportunities, business processes, the design and development, implementation, and support, of customized business solutions, consistent with approved project plans. The position works with business stakeholders to ensure projects meet business objectives and align with corporate strategy. They will be the main liaison between the IT Development department and other business units.

Areas of focus- Make recommendations for improvements to BA methodology- Use business analyst best practices based on BABOK and industry standards- Maintain documentation standards- Use different methods to bridge communication between business & IT- Interact professionally and effectively with all stakeholders through verbal and written communication- Work individually or as a team member to achieve departmental and organizational goals- Contribute to team effectiveness- Define the scope, high-level goals and business requirements for the project- Implement departmental policies and procedures- Monitor departmental performance, objectives and measures- Assist in recruitment, selection and orientation of new employees- Build the team’s skills and capabilities to deliver superior customer service- Provide leadership, mentorship, guidance and coaching to team members- Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions- Communicate job expectations; plan, monitor and review job contributions

Successful incumbent- 6 year’s direct work experience as a Business Analyst- University degree in business, finance or computer science, or equivalent educational/professional experience- IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) certification would be preferred- Demonstrated experience analyzing business and technical requirements- Expertise in designing, developing, and implementing re-engineered business processes and associated software and hardware- Direct knowledge of database management, various data retrieval methodologies (including data importing to spreadsheets, graphs, etc.) and data modeling- Proven leadership skills to manage, lead and motivate employees- Ability to promote and lead organizational change- Able to interpret the requirements of end users, project managers, and other stakeholders- Ability to work independently and to act as proxy as necessary for internal business stakeholders- Excellent communication and presentation skills including the ability to influence and negotiate- Capable of exercising independent judgment and recognize the critical impacts to business
