**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Superintendent of Maintenance, this position is responsible for providing leadership to the trade’s teams within the treatment plants and is the gate keeper for all proactive and reactive work processes in their area of responsibility. The role is responsible for leading the team towards excellence in safety, maintenance management, reliability and problem prevention.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Create a positive work environment that promotes mutual respect and team development through daily management systems and regular on the job support and data quality verification.
- Participate in the development and delivery of detailed maintenance, safety, reliability and environmental care plans, standard work documents and performance management.
- Ensuring Halton’s water and wastewater infrastructure is compliant with all applicable legislation and regulations (MOECC/MOL) through the delivery of a dynamic process to plan, undertake, validate, review and improve regulated activities within the division.
- Support asset acquisition, disposal processes and the development of predictive (Pd.M.) and preventative maintenance (PM) programs.
- Lead the scheduling, monitoring and reviewing of optimum maintenance strategies to reduce life cycle costs and risks while ensuring compliance with all regulations and legislation standards across the water & wastewater treatment plants 24/7 operation.
- Lead and support all tactical, maintain, repair and operate lifecycle processes to ensure the optimum decisions are made in collaboration with maintenance, operations, plant capital teams and other stakeholders as required.
- Lead and support the continual development, review, and revision of staff performance, polices, long range plans for the Water & Wastewater Treatment divisions.
- Ensuring that all services delivered directly to the residents and businesses of Halton are consistently delivered and respond to customer inquiries and complaints whenever necessary.
- Supervision and support of activities across a diverse group of unionized staff requiring effective performance management, communication, dispute resolution, and negotiation skills in accordance with Corporate Polices and Collective Agreement language.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- A skilled trade certificate of qualification, technical diploma or degree with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience supervising a large cross functional Maintenance team in an industrial setting.
- The incumbent must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience related to work planning and control including, planning, scheduling and monitoring of maintenance activities and ensuring performance targets are achieved.
- Excellent collaboration, team building, organizational, leadership and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate professionalism, tact and political acuity when interacting with stakeholders.

**Preferred**
- A working knowledge of maintenance management, asset management, reliability centered maintenance (RCM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) with certifications, AMP, MMP or CMRP.

- Expensed travel will be required.
- Incumbent will be required to serve on standby and respond to after hour callouts and provide leadership in emergencies and in adverse conditions, as specified by Public Work Practices.

- Incumbent must provide their own transportation.
