- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution on a full-time basis and returning to school upon completion of the co-op work term(s).

**This position will require the successful incumbent to provide proof of co-op eligibility, a transcript and tax credit form(s) from their school’s co-op department.**

**Job Summary**:
This position provides support in collection of water/wastewater samples, analytical data analysis and reporting. This position may rotate between plants located in Oakville, Burlington, Georgetown and Acton as per facility requirements.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Attends Health and Safety training to ensure personal safety complies with Provincial legislated standards.
- Assists with the documentation, review and update of standard operating procedures and the development of training manuals for all operational processes.
- Assists with collection of water/wastewater samples, analytical data analysis and reporting.
- Verifies Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system data with field observation results and reports anomalies.
- Attends facility related operational process control meetings, prepares meeting minutes and undertakes any action items assigned.
- Assists with minor equipment maintenance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education co-op program in Environmental, Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in research.
- Self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and the ability to work successfully in a largely self-directed work environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an empowered team environment.
- Advanced experience with office technology solutions including Microsoft Office.
- The incumbent will be exposed to a wide variety of treatment processes, legislative requirements that require attention to detail and documentation.
- Experience with laboratory procedures and equipment.

**Preferred**
- Possession of their Operator in Training (OIT) License.
- Experience with using hand tools.

**Working/ Employment Conditions**:
**Working Conditions**:

- The successful incumbents(s) will be assigned to a Regional facility based on order of hire.
- The successful incumbent will be required to have a valid G driver's license and may be required to report to different facilities throughout their work term.
- The incumbent will be required to supply his own CSA approved (Green Patch) steel-toed, and steel soled work boots and safety glasses (prescription if required). Region of Halton will supply coveralls that are to be returned at conclusion of work term.
- Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors in potentially odorous and inclement weather conditions.

**Employment Conditions**:

- The incumbent will be required to drive a Regional vehicle and will be required to provide a copy of their driver’s license and a driver’s abstract, by their first day of employment.
