We are looking for a **Director, ESG **to join our **Crestpoint Real Estate Investments Ltd. **(“Crestpoint”) team. Part of the Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group, Crestpoint is a commercial real estate investment manager dedicated to providing institutional and high net worth investors with direct access to commercial real estate assets. Through the execution of our disciplined investment approach and active management of our properties, we strive to deliver stable income and attractive long-term returns through a diversified portfolio of office, industrial, retail, and multi-family residential properties.
**What You Will Do**
Reporting to the Head of Asset Management, the Director of ESG will be responsible for:
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of ESG data. Develop, compile, and analyze metrics that track progress of the real estate ESG program across a growing portfolio of commercial properties.
- Work with the ESG Task Force to develop performance targets for the portfolios and maintain industry knowledge on industry best practices with opportunity to publish white papers for internal and third-party manager use.
- Work with senior management team to define and produce reporting policies, processes, templates and controls, working closely with third party software providers.
- Work closely with the sales, asset management and investor relations teams to respond to investor requests for ESG data and assist in populating due diligence questionnaires.
- Work with the asset management team to evaluate and execute capital expenditure projects that are focused on a reduction in utility consumption or greenhouse gas emission and develop case studies and best practices.
- Working with the marketing and investor relations team, develop and maintain templates for external facing ESG reporting deliverables including standalone sustainability reports at year end.
- Work with asset management, development, and external property management teams to execute projects related to ESG and property metrics, technology enhancements and external communications.
- Enhance systems and processes to supply data to asset management team to help establish and meet energy and environmental performance improvement.
**What You Bring**
- Ideally 8+ years of related experience, in ESG and real estate data analytics, preferably in a fiduciary environment at a real estate asset manager.
- Excellent analytical skills and understanding of ESG related metrics.
- Prior work experience in real estate ESG framework (GRESB, TCFD, SASB, etc.) reporting or a comparable engineering or data analytics (ASHRAE audit) role preferred.
- A related undergraduate degree (emphasis in statistics, environmental science, engineering).
- Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to think critically and problem solve effectively.
- Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with external parties to ensure deadlines are met and work is complete.
- Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to prepare presentations for internal and external parties.
- Strong work ethic and desire to contribute meaningfully to a growing real estate investment and asset management platform.
