Due to continued growth, we a have an opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to join our company at our head office in Edmonton, Alberta. The HR Manager will support both the Edmonton, Alberta and London, Ontario locations.

**Position Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Work with hiring managers to create job offers and initiate on-boarding processes
- Develop company policies and procedures as needed, update existing policies and procedures and employee handbooks
- Coordinate WCB/WSIB and Short-Term Disability claims and all related paperwork with internal partners and external agencies or carriers; accountable for managing the full internal cycle for all occupational claims
- Promote Early and Safe Return to Work, focusing on accommodation and coordination of modified duties; track, report and evaluate incidents and claim costs, and provide feedback to Management Team
- Maintain communication with insurance carrier ensuring non-occupational claims are reviewed on a timely basis, and that decisions and payments are made adhering to our contracts and service agreements
- Maintain compliance within WCB/WSIB, O.H.S.A, Human Rights Code, Alberta Employment Standards Code, ESA and other related legislation
- Identify, schedule and follow up on all in-house Product Knowledge, Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs), WHMIS and First Aid and CPR training sessions; maintain the employee training matrix
- Coordinate JHSC meetings and inspections; maintain accurate training and certifications of all members
- Plan/update emergency response plans (injuries, fires, sprinkler controls, etc.); respond to emergency situations
- Track employee attendance and document all correspondence
- Schedule and track all employee evaluations and benefits enrolment dates
- Organize company wide communication regarding (e.g. memos, updated policies, etc.)
- Other duties as needed

**Qualifications**
- BHRM/BCom degree specializing in Human Resources or a combination of related education and experience
- 3+ years of Human Resources experience
- Solid understanding of Alberta ESC and Ontario ESA
- Strong proficiency in MS Office - including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional demeanour and attitude
- Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- A proven track record of being resourceful, delivering results and following through on objectives
- Fast learner with commitment to ongoing learning
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Tact and diplomacy when handling confidential information
- Ability to travel as needed
