**Job description**

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for representing Medical laboratories of Windsor by means of telecommunication via telephone and fax, conducting themselves in a proficient, courteous and efficient manner to multiple levels of management or the medical profession levels of Management or the medical profession in a timely and organized fashion with strong attention to detail for Accuracy.

**Major duties and responsibilities**
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients requiring Home Lab visits.
- Schedule Home Lab visits daily, while also continuously monitoring incoming Home Lab requisitions.
- Schedule future and recurring visits in Microsoft Outlook calendar.
- Review requisitions noting any special tests that require special handling, blood cultures, non-OHIP billable tests, tests requiring patients to fast and/or provide urines.
- Create a patient timetable, including the necessary information for the patient about MLW’s visit with them such as duration, recurrence, day of the week and approximate time.
- Monitor Nursing Home Lab requests: (i) verify that lab request(s) were received and how many patients require labs; (ii) review requisitions noting any special tests that require special handling, blood cultures, non-OHIP billable tests, require patients to fast and/or provide urine.
- Research available technologies to find efficiencies in current processes; an example is improvements in travel routes.
- All other duties as assigned.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: $16.50-$17.50 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Windsor, ON N8X 1K4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Front desk: 1 year (preferred)
- Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)
