As our organization continues to thrive, we are currently seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager who will be responsible for the providing leadership, vision and direction in HSE for Apex and the group of companies.

**Responsibilities include**:
- Providing leadership, vision and direction in HSE for the entire organization
- Providing HSE direction and support to the Branch HSE Coordinators and Branch and Department Managers
- Ensuring the organization is in compliance with government regulations, industry guidelines and company policies and customer requirements
- Auditing Apex branch HSE programs
- Assisting in the HSE orientation and training of new employees
- Visiting branch locations to conduct inspections, participate in field tours, observing workers, completing site safety inspections, and tracking corrective actions and incident data
- Working in liaison with the leadership team to improve safety systems and promote a positive, compliant HSE culture
- Leading and attending safety meetings; contributing at daily tailgates
- Ensuring employees are reporting incidents, near miss incidents, hazard IDs and providing positive reinforcement
- Ensuring that all employees receive the proper HSE training and are competent in completing assigned tasks; training Branch HSE Coordinators
- Performing risk assessments
- Keeping current all insurance, WCB, and related information
- Completing a root cause analysis for any incidents/ accidents and providing solutions
- Assisting in the construction and distribution of all job procedures and competencies
- Providing input on PPE, safety related equipment and HSE programs
- Providing material for monthly branch safety meetings
- Assisting with the development and modification of Apex Handbook
- Implementing HSE policies and procedures; maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HSE legislation and current initiatives
- Reviewing and ensuring compliance with Motive GPS monitoring devises
- Assisting with completion of all Requests for Proposal; Providing input on new builds and ensuring compliance with HSE regulations
- Participating in all regularly scheduled Manager’s Meetings, training opportunities, and show initiative with corporate objects
- Creating a years HSE budget and ensuring HSE purchases and expenditures are in accordance with company policy
- Responding to workplace incidents - Investigating, completing a root cause analysis, and providing solutions for all incidents
- Ability to work with, lead and motivate others
- Capable of instilling a strong sense of Apex culture
- Strong critical thinking and investigation skills
- Must possess integrity, empathy and the ability to make sound decisions
- The ability to lead, organize, delegate, prioritize, train and present
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to interpret and communicate OH&S legislation
- Willing and able to work in a team setting and help out where needed
- Desire and ability to perform physical requirements of the job and work in a drug and alcohol free environment
**Experience and Education**
- Minimum CRST. CRSP, CSP or CMIOSH designation is preferred
- 5-10 years of experience in a similar role; industry experience is an asset
- Familiarity with Workhub, Gravity Forms, and third party compliance software (ISN, Avetta, etc.) is preferred
- Internal/External Auditors Certificate with Energy Safety Canada is an asset
- Driver’s license and clean drivers’ abstract and hold all necessary safety tickets
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
