**About The Role**
Based at our Nova Chemicals Joffre project site on a 6 days on, 1 day off schedule, reporting to the HSE Manager, the HSE Coordinator 2 is responsible for HSE on the project. The HSE Coordinator 2 is also responsible for monthly / weekly reporting, supporting operations in the day-to-day functions of the HSE MS, and leading and lagging safety indicators to the RSM, Director, and Corporate. This will be a temporary role supporting our Nova Chemicals Turnaround team on day shift.
**As an HSE Coordinator 2 at Graham, you will**:
- Take responsibility for own health, safety, and environmental protection, as well as that of direct reports, the general public, and visitors to the site(s).
- Conduct project-specific safety orientation with all workers and visitors new to the worksite prior to commencement of work on the project.
- Confirm that equipment inspections, preparation of reports, and follow-up on all noted deficiencies are completed.
- Report any noncompliant conditions to the responsible project Superintendent / Supervisor.
- Assist in BBS assessments, when required.
- Confirm through inspections that controlled products supplied to projects are accompanied by a corresponding current SDS / MSDS, and other documentation as required by local government regulations.
- Confirm through observations that the ERP and other related emergency documents, bulletins, and notices are posted and communicated to workers.
- Attend and participate in HSE meetings.
- Review incident reports and maintain monthly statistics to identify undesirable trends.
- Conduct project inspections with the project Superintendent and worker to support hazard identification
- Arrange or conduct HSE training for workers and Supervisors.
- Interact with regulatory bodies and clients, taking a hands-on approach and acting as the point of contact.
- Deal with issues and support Operations as required.
- Demonstrate HSE and Quality behaviours that reflect corporate expectations of Actively Caring and Road to Zero.
**Qualifications/Experience**:
- High school graduation and completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school.
- Minimum NCSO designation required. Certification in Health and Safety, or a safety designation is an asset.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in safety or a related field.
- Experience working in Live Plant or Maintenance Environment required. Civil experience considered an asset
- Understanding of Incident Investigation techniques
- Understanding of how HSE MS systems work.
- Understanding of general constructability.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and online reporting software.
