We are looking for a Superintendent - Mine Operations. This role is a great opportunity to manage team performance and be a part of a global organization that values safety and teamwork in a dynamic northern climate. The role will be based be based in Labrador City and is a Monday-Friday, 8-4 shift.

Reporting to Manager, Mine Operations, the Superintendent will be responsible for:

- Actively promoting safety awareness, safe work practices and hazard identification and risk management principles
- Providing clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required to achieve safety and production targets and minimize and identify and eliminate situations that could cause equipment damage or excessive wear
- Maximizing crew and employee performance and safety through training and matching of employee experience to daily equipment allocation and priorities
- Developing and promoting a positive employee relations environment within the operations crew and across shifts

**What you'll bring**

To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Minimum of 10 years of related experience
- Must have a strong, demonstrated commitment to safety, with strong leadership, supervisory and people skills
- Must demonstrate a style of participative management in problem solving, project implementation, integration and continuous improvement
- Must possess good communication skills - written and oral, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to effectively interface with others
- Bachelor’s Degree or Technological certification (in a relevant Mining related discipline) would be considered an asset

**Where you will be working**

We are a leading North American producer and exporter of premium iron ore pellets and high-grade concentrate with average iron grades greater than 66%. With a team of over 2,400 employees, IOC is committed to providing value and continuity for our customers, employees, communities and shareholders through our unique mine to port approach, taking advantage of our full integration and wholly owned infrastructure to deliver our high-quality concentrate and pellets to our customers across the globe.

IOC’s operations include a mine with five operational pits, a concentrator and a pelletizing plant located near Labrador City in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We also operate a wholly-owned 418 km railway, the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway (QNS&L), which links our Labrador operations to Company-owned port facilities in Sept-Iles.
