Lethbridge, Canada Tradesman Manufacturing Full time

**SUMMARY**:
The Parts Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance team by accurately identifying, pricing, ordering, inspecting, cataloguing, organizing, and distributing the necessary parts for the repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery in the facility. The Parts Technician will work closely with the maintenance team to ensure that the right parts are available at the right time to support efficient and effective maintenance activities. Work with parts from the original manufacturer or other manufacturers of sheet metal processing machinery for cutting, forming, fastening, as well as machine tools, industrial, electrical, or other types of equipment.

**Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to)**:

- Maintain parts inventories including identifying and cataloguing parts and assemblies, ordering, receiving, inspecting, sorting and stock handling.
- Source parts accurately with pricing information and source alternative parts options when OEM parts are not available.
- Practice strong inventory management and stock optimization.
- Ensure proper preparation for annual inventory counts.
- Provide parts to the mechanics in the shop, have parts organized and available for mechanics to complete work orders.
- Maintain and setup parts database in CMMS system.
- Organize and arrange shipment for exchange parts, part returns, and external repairs.
- Comply with all company quality, health and safety regulations and work procedures.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance positive professional relationships both internally and externally.
- Use equipment, such as computers, calculators, and material handling equipment.
- Other duties as required.

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Basic math skills.
- Strength and stamina.
- Attention to details such as parts catalogues and electronic inventory systems.
- Initiate work orders requesting corrective actions.
- Operate a computer and use programs such as Windows and MS Office.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Demonstrate high standards of safe work practices and safety conscious behavior.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and positive team attitude.
- Ability to work and think independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education/Experience**
- Journey Person Parts Technician or pursuing designation.
- Or alternatively a combination of the completion of a one-year Parts Technician Certificate Program and 3 to 5 years experience in a similar role

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing and warehousing environment. Work and machinery operation requires the use of personal protective equipment to include but not limited to, eye safety glasses, steel toe foot protection, hearing protection, Kevlar sleeves and hard hats. Jewellery and loose-fitting clothes are not permitted.
