**The Opportunity**

The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Recreation and Parks department as a Business Development Coordinator. ?

Reporting to Supervisor, Grants & Business Partnerships, this position will be responsible for implementing and executing effective sales strategies to support revenue targets, build relationships and provide opportunities for the business community, enhancing the customer experience in recreation facilities, programs and services through advertising and sponsorship, commercial leases, and vending.

The key responsibilities will include:

- implementing the terms of commercial leasing and vending agreements with Recreation and Parks, supporting the supervisor in the implementation of sponsorship and advertising strategies.
- managing advertising and sponsorship inventory, documenting business practices, and using reporting for decision-making. It includes maintaining agreements, responding to inquiries, contributing to financial reviews and strategic planning, and ensuring service delivery efficiency.
- monitoring budgets and adhering to policies to assist in ensuring services are accessible to the community.

**Qualifications**
- A Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or a related field combined with three years related experience. OR Diploma combined with five years experience. Member of Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is an asset
- Requires skills in communication (oral/written), researching, negotiation skills, ability to handle complex situations with tact and diplomacy and conflict resolution.
- Strong advertising/sponsorship sales experience, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently. Must have a good knowledge of business and marketing practices. Basic knowledge of commercial leasing is an asset.
- Understanding of sports, recreation, and culture as well as competitive and recreational athletic programs is considered an asset. Incumbent will have advertising, sponsorship, and group sales experience, understand the selling process, follow-up, and customer service skills.
- Applicants must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.

**Hours of Work**

Compressed work schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly (Monday - Friday, with a regular day off (RDO) every two weeks).
